Thank you for your letter of 3 October, enclosing a copy of a letter about Governors terms of service.
I cannot claim that, under the present arrangements, the Governor in Bermuda is badly treated. I have no special problems as regards accommodation here or the upkeep of Government House. As regards other problem areas it would, indeed, be a help to me if the FCO could pay for a mid-tour leave travel for my wife and myself. Unlike the FCO, the Bermuda Government do not consider themselves responsible for paying for such journeys, and I am required to meet them out of my own pocket.
I do not think there are any other aspects of my terms of service on which I could claim that I am "losing out" at present.

I have been in bad correspondence with Personnel Services Department of the FCO about the arrangements for my superannuation cover, during my service as Governor of Bermuda.
