The Board asked Sir Leslie Munson to advise them in mid- November, after his proposed visit to Hong Kong, whether Sir Hugh Norman-Walker secmod a suitable candidate in the light of present conditions in the Colony.
Item No. 3:
The extension of the term of office of Sir John Paul, British Honduras
The Board agroud that Sir John Paul should continue to be in charge of British Honduras for a further two years, or until British Honduras should become indepondent.
The Board recognised, however, Sir John Paul's difficulty over his Governor's pension, and recommended that Sir Denis Greenhill should write to Sir Willian Armstrong to ask if special arrangements could be made to sclvo 9ir John Paul's problom.
Item No. 4:
Deputy Governor of the Bahamas
The Board agreed that the present Deputy Governor,
Mr. W. Sweeting, C.B.E., should be offered an extension of one year. The Board noted the drawbacks in general in having a local citizen appointed as Deputy Governor, but accepted that in present circunstances in the Baha..as there was no alternative.
Item No. 5:
Selection of a distinguished retired HMOCS officer to join the Board
The Board agreed that Sir Kobert Black should be invited to join the Board for one year.
