Her Majesty The Queen has approved a further extension of Sir Murray MacLehose's term of office as Governor of Hong Kong until August 1979. His tour has been extended twice before,
from November 1976 to November 1977 and from November 1977 to
November 1978.
2. Following the usual form, we shall not be asking you to make an announcement at the FCO News Conference, but you should
be aware that an announcement will be made locally in Hong Kong at 0900Z on Tuesday 21 March (1700 HK time).
