A late entrant from HMOCS in 1963, Mr Strong has served exclusively in Africa since joining the DS. He is mature, responsible and fully dependable with a strong sense of duty. quiet manner and modesty conceal a positive personality. He works well under pressure, is clear minded and resourceful. His judgement is consistently sound and he has excellent political sense. likeable and cheerful colleague, he is good with staff and popular both inside and outside the Office,

At his present post, he is described as a good administrator and organiser who has effectively taken charge during periods of absence of the Head of Post. His fluent Swahili, unrivalled knowledge of Tanzania and considerable knowledge of Africa would suit him best for a final African post but he has indicated a willingness to serve in Dependent Territories and would be suitable for a post as Governor.
