1. Arrangements have to be made to fill the post of British Resident Commissioner, New Hebrides, to replace Mr J S Champion (Diplomatic Service, Grade 3) who is retiring in October 1978.
2.
The Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board have been consulted and have agreed that their advice to the Secretary of State should be that Mr A C Stuart (Biographical note attached) should be appointed. I understand that Mr Stuart's promotion to
Grade 3 was approved by the Secretary of State on 4 July.
3. I recommend that the Secretary of State should approve the advice of the Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board.
