Summary of candidates considered but not short-listed
a. T H Layng HM Commissioner Tuvalu. Although well fitted for the job both in ability and experience he is by temperament a lonely person (he is a bachelor) and finds it difficult to make easy relationships. This could arouse hostility in the post under consideration. He is currently being actively considered for the job as Chief Secretary Turks and Caicos.
b. A C Watson Governor Turks and Caicos. He will
end his term of office in July. He has served for 3
years in Turks and Caicos and before that 4 years as HM Commissioner Anguilla. Whereas it is considered
that he could admirably carry out another Governorship
it is felt that he needs a change of scene after two
very exacting posts. POD concur with this view.
