Mr Rowlands has seen Hr Jones's minute of 20 July, and has discussed the matter with Lord Goronwy-Roberts. In the light of Lord Goronwy-Roberts's views, he is more than content that Mr Davidson's appointment should stand, and that the Dependent Territories Senior Appointments Board need not meet to consider the matter unless there are overwhelming reasons for it to do so.
