help It may be that ODM would welcome the Inspectors Report on assessing the terms and conditions of such staff but I would doubt whether the Inspectors would be able to take on this extra work load.

6. You will note that in their 1974 Falkland Islands Report the Inspectors made recommendations on a large number of matters exactly as they would in a DS post. Perhaps we could suggest that, if they take on the DTS, they should limit their investigations to:

i) content and grading of job;

ii)

allowances;

iii) length of tour.

Mr Parker's letter of 20 February 1978 may serve as a starting point in raising the type of query which an inspection could help to sort out.
