management, and the Inspectors are always glad to advise on any problems of administration that may be causing you concern. You will be informed well in advance (three months or more) when an inspection is due to take place and will be invited to let the Inspectors know about any problem on which you would like their help. You will, of course, appreciate that the problems of run- ning a dependent territory are different from those connected with a normal Diplomatic Service post overseas. It may happen, therefore, that the Inspectors do not have the same experience of particular problems. of the former as of the latter. Also, they work to a tight time-table and may not, therefore, be able to tackle problems requiring detailed study without sufficient notice. But, subject to these two qualifications, they will always try to help with any problems you might care to put to them.
