INSPECTION
1.
With the approval of Dick Stratton
and the Chief Clerk I propose to include Vila
in the Spring Inspection programme 1979, when an
Inspection team will be in the South-West
Pacific. The tour will start in New Zealand
on about 15 January. The team will aim to
reach you on about 12 March, and will need to
spend about one week with you.
2.
The Inspection will not be a full one,
as it would be of a Diplomatic Post, but the
Inspector will be available to discuss with you
any matters affecting management or procedure
that you wish to raise with him. The New
Hebrides will probably be still too far away from
independence for a sensible judgement to be made
about the level of representation that will be
required thereafter, but any view that you may
wish to offer to the Inspector on this point
will be welcome.
