1. I have read the attached file both to form a judgement on that individual and to consider what other evidence or presentational change would be needed to simplify the task of checking 140 such

2. In general I am satisfied, but I feel it would be helpful in future cases to have details of the suspect's income. I therefore attach a draft reply to Hong Kong telegram No. 279. I have made no mention in the draft of the need to provide a reason for the officer's dismissal. I do not feel that a statement to the effect that it was no longer considered to be in the public interest for a particular individual's services to be retained would be any more

Nevertheless prejudicial to a possible trial than his dismissal.

CR 55 does not call for a reason to be given and I see no point in offering reasons, even in the most general terms, until we are pressed.

If you are content with the wording of the attached minute, I will have prepared a stock with the details omitted and the choice of "I am/am not satisfied".
