and, since I will not be here to benefit, I feel that I can reasonably put forward a fourth requirement, viz,

There is also a termite problem but I hope that this can be dealt with from our own resources.

4. Otherwise, there is no real pressing need at present to augment the local vote for the replacement of furnishings etc nor are any local security measures required. However, as the years go by, some of the carpets and curtains purchased in 1972 (and before that) will require replacement. Major purchases, eg of new carpets, would not be possible within the local vote but, if spread over a number of years, would require an annual grant from HMG of about $2500 a year for four years as from 1979.

5. To sum up, therefore, our requirements are a lump sum of $18,000 for the building (or $33,000 if the tennis court is included) and an annual grant of $2,500 for four years for major replacement of soft furnishings.
