GOVERNOR'S PENSION SCHEME

(25) Thank you for your letter of 15 July and the note of our meeting on the 9 July.

We should be grateful to learn when we might expect a substantive reply to the

(13) proposals contained in our letter of 4 December 1974.

You will perhaps recall that several points were still unresolved at our meeting and we still await your views on the following items which Moorhouse discussed with Miss Dunleavy in August.

1. RELATIONSHIP TO THE PCSPS

After consulting the Paymaster General's office we advised Miss Dunleave of

the echanics of payment and we await your further advice on the action required.

3. QUALIFYING PERIOD, - RULE 2.1

We understand you are taking the necessary action to clear this with the Inland Revenue.

Our position on rule 3.22 is that it is necessary.

On 3.24 there seems no necessity so far as we are concerned to perpetuate this rule unless there happens to be a legal requirement for it.

Our understanding of the position is that you would consider our proposals as put forward in para 10 of our letter under reference and let us have your opinion as to what amendments are desirable to the Scheme to accord with your current policy on abatements.
