Purpose
To provide reporting centres in all areas of dense population.
PART II
Progress made and present position.
30 have been approved for 1976/77 of which 26 are for Government Housing estates. Sites have not been found for 7 of the Government Housing Estate Centres but action on all remaining centres is now proceeding satisfactorily following the
resolution of earlier difficulties.
Next quarter's target
Monitoring of building process. Planning 1977/78 and 1978/79 building Programme Plan.

To provide for the replacement of the existing centre at Chatham Road at minimum cost.
The former military prison on Stonecutter is being considered. It is hoped to arrange a joint site visit with Services and Police soon,

7. Policing of Mass
Transit Railway SEC 2/07/34
To reach agreement on the arrangements to be made for the RHKPF to police the M.T.R. system.
Outline agreement has been reached between Government and MTRC on the policing of the Railway by RHKP the equipment they require to do this, and on the division of financial responsibility for this between Government and MTRC.

E. Control of Plastics
and Plastic Factories SEC 10/3/23
To reduce fire risk.
The Federation of Hong Kong Industry representing the plastics industry, has strongly objected to the Dangerous Goods Standing Committee's original proposals. The Committeo has therefore agreed that the Federation should have 6 months to draft alternative proposals.
