Personal Assistants to the officers in
the four most highly remunerated posts in Government shall receive $4105 to $4930 on a 5 point scale whilst the Assistant Social Secretary and Social Secretary who are on His Excellency's establishment shall receive fixed salaries of $3565 and $4700 respectively.
THE STRUCTURE FOR THE GRADE OF CONFIDENTIAL ASSISTANT

The grade comprises approximately half local and half overseas officers. It has existed since pre-war when it was an exclusively overseas grade. The duties are predominantly clerical and it is proposed that on restructuring the grade shall be transferred from the Secretarial to the Clerical Class.

As corollaries it is further proposed that the grade shall be open to both male and female officers and that pay shall be assessed with reference to the pay of the Clerical rather than the Secretarial Class.
44.
The grade shall be banded into two levels of responsibility, Confidential Assistant and Senior Confidential Assistant. Qualifications for entry shall, for local officers, be purely in-service with at least five years service in Government to establish suitability for work of a confidential nature.
45.
There shall be a requirement for a basic
typing skill of 30 w.p.m.
46.
Confidential Assistants shall be paid $1300 per month on entry on an 11 point incremental scale rising to a maximum of $2490. Those promoted to Senior Confidential Assistant shall be paid $2620 on promotion on an 8 point incremental scale to a maximum of $3745.
