2. Thank you for your letters of 4 and 8 June. I am sorry for the delay in replying but my department has been trying to arrange a programme for you as well as to obtain the publications which you asked for. As to the latter, I have unfortunately been unable to obtain more than one copy of the Younger Committee's report on privacy from our library who denied me more on economy grounds. If you do need more, I could get them for you from HHSO but on repayment, I'm afraid. For different reasons, I could only obtain one copy of Command 6353. I will try to obtain more copies for you when they are reprinted but, in the meantime, I hope you can manage with this. But I have been successful in getting hold of six copies of Command 6354 and a booklet on "Computing in Government" sent to us by the Data Protection Committee. All these are enclosed.
2. On the information you requested in your letter of 4 June, I regret that I have little to offer you. The department has been in touch with Mr A S Jordan, who is the Secretary of the Data Protection Committee and I attach a copy of his letter. may help to clarify some of the points that you raised,
