16 sacks containing a total of 645.2 kilogrammes of raw opium were discovered in a sampan in Shaukiwan Typhoon Shelter.

59. On 16th September, 1976, Chinese male LAM Ming-yin (2651/0682/6343) and Chinese females CHIU Ngan-so (6392/7346/5685) and LEUNG Chuen (2733/6567) arrived at Hong Kong Airport from Bangkok. When their baggage was searched by Preventive Service officers, 8 pairs of trousers were found in each of their suitcases. Concealed inside the waist band of each pair were polythene packets containing esters of morphine (partly manufactured heroin), the total seizure comprising 9.0365 kilogrammes of a mixture containing 4.3818 kilogrammes of esters of morphine. LAM, CHIU and LEUNG were arrested and have been charged with Possession Of Dangerous Drugs For The Purpose Of Unlawful Trafficking. They have been committed to stand trial at the Supreme Court.
