1. As you may be aware, I recently called in at Bangkok on the way back from Hong Kong, principally in order to speak to Mr Law, the Assistant Commissioner of Hong Kong Police, who is serving in our Embassy in Bangkok as a Counsellor concerned with narcotics problems. Mr Law was pathetically grateful for my call as he said that he felt rather out on a limb in Bangkok despite the fact that the Embassy itself was constantly helpful and co-operative.
2. He gave me a copy of a paper which had been prepared by the United States Embassy in Rangoon on Burma's narcotics situation which you may wish to read. I should be grateful if you would let me have it back when you have read it.
