Q26. Mr. Whitehead asked the Prime Minister if he will list his engagements for 24th November.

The Prime Minister: This morning I presided at a meeting of the Cabinet. In addition to my duties in this House, I shall be holding further meetings with ministerial colleagues and others, includ- ing one with the Governing Mayor of Berlin.

ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT (NORTHERN ENGLAND)

Q10. Mr. Noble asked the Prime Minister if he will appoint a Minister with special responsibility for the economic development of Northern England.

The Prime Minister: I refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave earlier today to the hon. Member for Maccles- field (Mr. Winterton).

ENERGY CONSERVATION

Q15. Mr. Ronald Atkins asked the Prime Minister whether he is satisfied with the co-ordination between the Secretaries of State for Transport, Energy and the Environment in implementing the pro- grammes for energy saving and conserva- tion.

The Prime Minister: Yes.

NATIONALISED INDUSTRIES

Q16. Mr. Robinson asked the Prime Minister when he next plans to meet the heads of nationalised industries.

The Prime Minister: I refer my hon. Friend to the reply which I gave to my hon. Friend the Member for Peter- borough (Mr. Ward) on 17th November.

Mr. Parry asked the Prime Minister if he has received the document "Report From Hong Kong ", dated 12th November 1977, concerning the recent amnesty relat- ing to corruption charges; what reply he has sent ; and if he will make a statement.

The Prime Minister: I received this document on 16th November. It is being considered and a reply will be sent as soon as possible.

SECRETARY OF STATE FOR THE ENVIRONMENT

Q23. Mr. Corbett asked the Prime Minister if he will list the responsibilities which he has allocated to the Secretary of State for the Environment.

The Prime Minister: The Secretary of State for the Environment has overall responsibility for the work of the Depart- ment of the Environment, including plan- ning, housing, local government, new towns, inner cities, and environmental protection.
