HONG KONG: PRIORITY WRITTEN PARLIAMENTARY QUESTION ON THE POLICE AND CORRUPTION
1. I submit draft replies to 10 Parliamentary Questions on this subject, together with a background note.
2. Mr Parry has so far this year put down 64 Questions on Hong Kong, covering a wide range of topics. He paid a prolonged visit to Hong Kong earlier this year. During this visit he was the subject of offensive remarks made in his presence by a group of off-duty European police officers. Mr Parry has received an apology for this incident from the Commissioner of Police in Hong Kong and the officers concerned have been severely reprimanded.

The replies are based on information and comments supplied by the Governor. The Departmental Legal Adviser concurs with the suggested reply to Question No. 10.
