Dear Minister,

Nick 380/7
Further to my letter of May 3 protesting about certain aspects of the predicament which my constituent, Christopher Clements of Kesgrave,
at present finds himself in Hong Kong, I attach herto a photostat of a letter of May 4 which I have just received from your Mr. Peter Bristow of the Consular Department.
See (41)
Frankly, his second paragraph is simply not acceptable. I put it to you that in all the circumstances, especially the distress of the parents, if you have not got the documents about legal aid in Hong Kong these could and should have been air-mailed over at the time of my request and I would hope that appropriate action along these lines will be taken forthwith.
!
Yours,
Sja-ja-
Rt. Hon. David Owen, PC MP,
Foreign and Commonwealth Secretary.
