receives 10
ave visited Mr Clements on fifteen occasions so far.
Mrs Nicholls is the only female visitor he has
eceived. I am assured that he receives his mail
regularly. Like other prisoners held on remand, he cigarettes daily; a review of this daily cigarette ration is to be undertaken shortly..: The prison authorities have investigated the reports, you cite of screaming by warders; they have not been able to find any evidence to support them.
The Hong Kong Government have sent us a detailed
account of the medical treatment which Mr Clements
has received since July.
The authorities deny that any
obnoxious medicine has been prescribed.

At the end of your letter you suggest that Mr Kenneth Weetch MP might be authorised to look
into the matter when he visits Hong Kong later this month. The Hong Kong, Commissioner in London is getting in touch with Mr Weetch to tell him that he would be very welcome to visit. Mr Clements if he wishes to do so.
