Hampton: Dealing first of all with the conspiracy charge there are it is clear 2 types of evidence to be dealt with as what I might call the direct or apparently direct evidence and there is of course the circumstantial. Dealing with the direct evidence first of all this came from Lau Cheong Ja, Cheng Cheuk Fun and according to Ar. sceats the business card of wong Tak wing. Dealing first of all with Lau Cheong wa in my respectful submission, the whole of his evidence should we disregarded by the Court, Lau is an admitted perjurer, his admission that his false affidavit in relation to his father's estate, che

significant point in that false affidavit was that it was false for his own protection or advantage. de is a person who has either deceived or attempted to deceive the Court before which he himself stood or at least stood by silent while that Court was being deceived. being said in English and in Chinese translation from the interpreter and clever witness though he was, it was only later when he realised the implications of that admission he attempted to wriggle unsuccessfully and what purpose could there have been in this deception or attempted deception other than again to work to his own advantage. not mysterious at all. His plan to deceive the Court again in relation to his assets and the proceeds of his corrupt activities.

There were

numerous points throughout his evidence which were unbelievable in themselves. Une leas to mind that throughout a long and lucrative corrupt career D2 was allegedly the first officer he had attempted to bribe. This just could not conceively be true.
