This arrangement carried on for several months until Chiu Tak was transferred and his post was taken over by Ma Hak Thing. I continued to pay $20,000 per month to Ma Hak Shing who in turn passed the money to Mr. Cunningham, until 27 November 1972 when I was promoted to Detective Station Sergeant and was transferred from Shaukivan to Wanchai Police Station. It was no longer necessary for me to pay Mr. Cunningham through Ma Hak Shing. I had seen Mr. Cunningham in 1974 when he was transferred from Bay View to become S.O.P. Hong Kong Island, when I paid him $2,000 per month out of my own pocket as a connection fee. This arrangement carried on until shortly before his home leave in 1974.
