What had that to do with your not consenting to see solicitors?

I had no time to see the solicitors.

But you did have time to see ICAC?

An appointment had been made and I drove my vehicle to Ferry Pier and officer was waiting for me. Not much

time was wasted.

If solicitors went to Ferry Pier to wait for you would you see him?

If it would not take up so much of my time I would agree to see him.

How much time would you give him?

15 minutes at the most.

Mr. Sceats: No Re-examination.

Witness released.

Court resumes et 10 a.m.

Appearances as before.

PW7 Lau Wai affirmed in Punti, states:

I appear in Court under a subpoena. Previously I made a statement to ICAC.

Mr. Gunston: Not relevant that he made a statement to ICAC. Mr. Hampton: 2 apparent reasons for excluding this testimony. One he has made a statement previously consistency of his evidence. Always objective and other is in terrorem of

witness in effect saying that if you stick to the statement

-

you gave to ICAC you will be immune from prosecution.

Hr. Sceats:

Nothing to add except to say that the question is

quite proper.)

Court: Question allowed.

In respect of each witness in order to avoid delay.7
