crossed and to say that Commissioner of Police had directed a named police officer and arrangements had been made for an interpreter from Secretariat to assist that officer. Arrangements made for interview of 4 witnesses on 20/10 at 10 a.m. I promised similar arrangements for the other 6 witnesses. I received reply from Gunston & Chow that mentioned time and place for interview was in their opinion suitable. Crown discovered that Mr. Hampton was out of the Colony. Tentative arrangements made for the purpose had been decided.: I caused a letter in standard form dated 28/10 to each of 10 persons concerned. and so I did not want to go.

S

In what way?

any other persons.
