Mr. Hampton: I support the objection of my learned friend, Mr.

Gunston.

(Document admitted in evidence as P29.)

According to records kept by Department these officers have not received any other emoluments shown in the charts. On 30/6/70 my department received a form submitted by Benno Thompson through Commissioner of Police. It is an instruction to Treasury to remit a certain sum to nominated person in England, account No. 30870650 with Barclays Bank, Winchester, England. Form in fact authorized Treasury to remit sum of £35 Sterling to that particular bank account each month and continuously to deduct the same amount from his salary each month. The authority was carried out until July 1972 when practice of making remittances on behalf of Government Servants ceased. No record of any objection by Mr. Thompson to carry out the instructions contained in the authorization. I produce the form. (Exh.P10)

Cross-examined by Mr. Hampton: Reserve cross-examination.
