ORDER OF REMOVAL OF A PRISONER
COLONIAL PRISONERS REMOVAL ACT, 1884
Whereas Donald David Bassett was on the thirtieth day of July 1976 convicted before the Supreme Court of Hong Kong of the offence of murder and received the sentence of death, subsequently commuted by the Governor and Commander-in-Chief to a sentence of life imprisonment:
And whereas the said Donald David Bassett belonged at the time of committing the said offence to Her Majesty's regular military forces:
Now I do hereby, in pursuance of the Colonial Prisoners' Removal Act, 1884, with the concurrence of the Government of
the said Colony, order that the said Donald David Bassett be removed to the United Kingdom there to undergo the residue of the said sentence (with such variations of the conditions
thereof as are or shall be provided by any regulations in force for the time being under the said act) in accordance
with the said Act.
