Explanatory Note
Under the principal regulations, the Director of
Public Works may issue permits for periods not exceeding
1 month (renewable for a further month) to enable a person
to carry out work other than piling between the hours of
11 p.m. and 6 a.m.
These regulations (which are consequential to
the amendments to section 13 of the Ordinance as effected
by the Summary Offences (Amendment) (No. 2) Ordinance 1977)
amend the principal regulations to enable the Director of
Public Works to issue permits in respect of work except
piling to be carried out between the new hours of 7 p.m.
and 7 a.m. or on any public holiday. The Director will
be able to issue such permits for any period not exceeding
3 months (renewable for a further 3 months), by virtue of
these regulations.
