Amend the Interpretation and General Clauses Crdinance.
Enacted by the Governor of Hong Kong, with the
advice and consent of the Legislative Council thereof.
short title.
1. This Ordinance may be cited as the
Interpretation and General Clauses (Amendment)
Ordinance 1977.
Amendment of section 3. (cap. 1.)
2.
Section 3 of the principal Ordinance is
amended by deleting the definitions of standard time::
and "summer time".
Repeal and replacement of sections 67 and 68.
3. Sections 67 and 68 of the principal ordinance
are repealed and replaced by the following new section
"Hong Kong Time.
67. (1) Whenever any expression
of time occurs in any ordinance the
time referred to is Hong Kong Time.
(2) For the purposes of subsection
(1), "Hong Kong Time" means the time
used for general purposes throughout
Hong Kong namely, 8 hours, or such
other period as may be determined by
the Legislative Council by resolution,
in advance of Greenwich Mean Time.
