THE INTERPRETATION AND GENERAL CLAUSES (AMENDMENT) ORDINANCE 1977

(No. 17 of 1977)

This Ordinance amends the Interpretation and General Clauses Ordinance to replace standard time and summer time, which were respectively set at 8 and 9 hours ahead of Greenwich Mean Time and applied to prescribed periods of a year, with a more flexible Hong Kong Time. This is 8 hours, or such other period as the Legislative Council may decide, ahead of Greenwich Mean Time, for the whole or part of a year.

Before the Governor assented to the Bill in the name and on behalf of Her Majesty, the Attorney General advised that he could properly do so.
