The objectors have requested resiting and a phased clearance with ample time to prepare for removal. They are occupying temporary structures on Crown land formerly held under Crown land permits which expired some two years ago. The structures were covered by the 1964 and 1976 Squatter Structures Surveys. In accordance with existing policy, therefore, domestic occupants will be rehoused and industrial and commercial operators will be offered flatted factory accommodation or ex-gratia cash payments depending on eligibility. The clearance of the structures will be phased. Phase I is scheduled for mid-September 1977 and Phase II for November 1977.

Recommendation
4
The objectors' request for resiting cannot under present policy be acceded to, but rehousing and flatted factory space or ex- gratia cash payments will be offered as usual. Since work on the project is scheduled to commence in October 1977, it is recommended that the proposed undertaking illustrated at Annex A should be authorised to proceed without modification.
Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance (Chapter 124) Resumption of Kowloon Inland Lot 7320
5
While every effort has been made in its design to avoid affecting leased property, if the proposed undertaking illustrated on the plan at Annex A is authorised to proceed as recommended in paragraph 4 above, it will be necessary to resume one lot, Kowloon Inland Lot 7320. The property standing on the lot will be cleared to permit construction of both elevated and ground level works.
6
The location of the property is shown shaded beige hatched black on the plan at Annex C. The lot is occupied by Numbers 139 and 141 Tung Chau Street. Number 139 comprises a three-storey building with mezzanine floor and penthouse, wholly taken up by workshops. Number 141 is a single-storey dangerous goods store. Both buildings were constructed in 1956. The area of the lot is about 186.3 square metres (2, 005 square feet). Funds are available within the approved project vote to cover the cost of re- sumption and clearance which is estimated at $1.6 million. Tenants in the property will be offered flatted factory accommodation or ex- gratia cash payments depending on eligibility.
