PROPOSED RESUMPTION OF INLAND LOT 834 SECTION B SUB-SECTION 1 REMAINING PORTION (PORTION) FOR ENVIRONMENTAL IMPROVEMENT
PURPOSES
Introduction
On 7th March 1972, Honourable Members advised and the Governor decided, inter alia, that resumption of properties identified under as being required for the implementation of the Urban Renewal Outline Zoning Plan LH 3/56 was required for a public purpose within the meaning of section 3 of the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance (Chapter 124). The properties to be resumed were identified by street names and house numbers.

Inland Lot 834 Section B Sub-Section 1 Remaining Portion (Portion), shown coloured beige hatched black on the plan at Annex, is 55.74m2 (600 square feet) in area.

It lies within the Urban Renewal District, is also required for implementation of the plan and comprises part of a flight of steps linking Chun Sing Street with Hill Road. Since there was no development on it which could be identified by a house number, the lot was inadvertently omitted from the property list for Area IX at Annex H to memorandum XCR(72)45.
Justification for Resumption

With the exception of the captioned lot, this section of the Urban Renewal District section which is known as Area IX is now wholly Crown property. Negotiations to acquire Inland Lot 834 Section B Sub- Section 1 Remaining Portion (Portion) by way of surrender are precluded as the present owner cannot be traced. The Director of Public Works is satisfied that acquisition of the lot is necessary for the development of Area IX as open space and has accordingly recommended its resumption. under the provisions of the Crown Lands Resumption Ordinance.
