The Director of Public Works has now recommended the re- sumption of 69, 124 square feet of private agricultural land and 100 square feet of building land at Tsang Tai Uk and Hung Mui Kuk for the construc- tion of the second carriageway and interchange, the general location of which is shown coloured orange on the Identification Plan at Annex A, The Secretary for the New Territories is satisfied that the area of land involved is the minimum necessary to implement this project. Compensa- tion for resumption and clearance estimated at $861, 000 and funds are available in the approved project estimate to meet this expenditure. The cost of ex-gratia cash allowance for a restaurant and a shop estimated at a total of $30,000 will be payable from the Housing Department Compen- sation vote, under which funds are also available.
