In parallel with the measures to legalise acceptable under- takings, action has also been taken to get rid of undesirable squatter factories. Moreover, recent increases in staff in the Sha Tin District Office have made it possible to deploy staff exclusively on lease en- forcement action with a view to prosecuting new illegal industrial under- takings. Currently, proceedings are being taken against about 30 dyeing works and several of these cases are expected to come to Court during May.
