That your Humble Petitioner's said marriage with

Madam LY Muoi otherwise known as LI Mui was solemnized at

Saigon, Vietnam according to Chinese customary rites and

ceremonies on the 24th day of January 1974 and has been re-

gistered with the local Government Marriage Registry.

That your Humble Petitioner has in the early part

of 1976 applied to the Director of Inmigration Department for

the issue of an entry permit in favour of his said lawful wife

Immigration Officer he was unable to produce his marriage

certificate (as it was kept by his wife in Saigon and the delay

of delivery of the said marriage certificate was caused by the

local post office) to prove his relationship and in excitement

and nervousness, he has erroneously told the said officer that

the said LY Muoi otherwise known as LI Mui was his fiancee.

The said application was then refused on 27th day of February

1976 by a letter sent to him by the Director of Immigration

Department without any reason being stated, but your Humble

Petitioner was believing that it was due to the ignorance on

his part to say that LY Muoi otherwise known as LI Mui was

his fiancée and not his wedded wife.

That after your Humble Petitioner has received the

relevant documents such as his marriage certificate, his wife's

birth certificate and identity card etc. sent to him by his

wife from Saigon, your Humble Petitioner again on the 21st day

of July 1977, through his then solicitors, Messrs. M. K. Lam

and company, applied to the Director of Immigration Department

for issue or entry permit to his wife to come to Hong Kong

and the said solicitors firm did so and wrote

to the said

Director on your Humble Petitioner's behalf in this respect.
