The statistical returns for October 1977 are attached.
The daily average figure for legal immigration from China showed a slight decline to 74, compared with 77 in September.

157 illegal immigrants from China were arrested during the month, compared with 274 in September. One illegal immigrant absconded from Police custody before processing at Takuling.

Only one illegal immigrant from Macao was arrested during the month, compared with 6 in September.
