2 We were interested to see from the telegram under reference that the members ot UMELCO had presented a written statement of views on the green paper to Lord Goronwy-Roberts. Given that any reform of UK Nationality Law which affected the position of Hong Kong would have considerable implications for our relations with the Chinese, we should be most interested to receive a copy of the written statement.
