HONG KONG: PQ ON EDUCATI ON FROM MR CHARLES MORRISON MP
Devizes) has put down
1. Mr Charles Morrison MP (Conservative two Written Questions for 28 March on the Hong Kong Polytechnic.
2. Mr Morrison, who is a member of the Anglo/Hong Kong Paliamentary Group (and, incidentally, a Vice-Chairman of the Conservative backbenchers 1922' Committee), visited Hong Kong in September 1975. He is generally sympathetic to Hong Kong and the Hong Kong Government's policies; he signed Sir Paul Bryan's recent "pro-Hong Kong" Early Day Motion. Mr Morrison's Question, his first on Hong Kong for at least eighteen months, may simply be designed to put on record information which is favourable to Hong Kong. It may be, however, that Mr Morrison intends to put a supplementary on the Hong Kong Polytechnic on 30 March as a follow up to Mr Hal Miller's oral PQ on education in Hong Kong which is down for answer that day (my submission of 23 March).
3. I submit draft replies based on information supplied by the Hong Kong Government (Hong Kong telegram no. 309 of 24 March).
