RESOLUTION

SAR

CONCERNED over the job security and trade union rights of the

government school teachers of Hong Kong;

After due deliberations and consideration of the following:

The written appeal on the case of the Hong Kong government school non-graduate teachers to the W.C.T. and INFEDOP, submitted by Bro. Lam Wah-hui, delegate of the Government School Non-Graduate Teachers Union (HK);

The petition letter of the GSNGTU (HK) to the Governor, the Chief Secretary, Secretary for Social Service, Councilers of the Executive and Legislative Councils, the Director of Education, and the Chairman and Members of the Board of Education of Hong Kong on the matter of turning over government primary schools to the aided sector, and the conversion of government primary schools into aided secondary schools, dated 11 July 1977;

The Declaration of the GSNGTU (HK) on the Matter of Dispersion, made at the General Meeting of the union on July 10, 1977;

The letter of the Secretary for Social Services of the Hong Kong government to the President of the GSNGTU (HK), dated November 17, 1976;

The announcement of the Hong Kong Government on July 6, 1977 releasing government measures in the matter of dispersion of government school non-graduate teachers in government primary schools;

Specified paragraphs of the Recommendation Con- cerning the Status of Teachers, adopted by the Special Inter-government Conference of I.L.0. and UNESCO, held in Paris, on 5 October 1966.

BE IT RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved and decided unani-

mously

1. To support the points expressed in the petition

by the GSNGTU (HK) dated 11 July 1977;
