SEREM SERICE HEADQUARTER

Request for the withdrawal of the proposal of constructing an elevated road over Hill Road.

In order to live in peaceful surroundings, we moved to Hill Road many years ago and everything has been all right so far. However, we are now very perturbed to learn about your department's proposal of constructing a vehicular flyover over Hill Road. We fear that its construction will bring forth many undesirable effects, such as air and noise pollution, which will affect the residents' health, both physically and mentally.

On the other hand, Hill Road is rather narrow and densely populated, with many schools and kindergartens located there (e.g. there are 2 kindergartens on the 1st and 2nd floors of our building, with 1,000-odd students). At peak hours, the road in question is jammed with school children. If the construction should take place, the health of both the residents and the students will be affected.

In view of the situation, we especially write to beseech you to withdraw the proposal in the interests of the residents and students.
