Gazetting of and Objections to Fok Fu Lam Road/Connaught Road West Link (Hill Road Flyover)

This scheme has also been gazetted as a proposed undertaking under the Streets (Alteration) Ordinance, A notice was published in the Government Gazette on 7th, 14th and 21st January 1977 under section 3 of the Ordinance describing the proposal outlined in sub-paragraph 4(d) above and illustrated by the plan at Annex C.

As a result of the notice, five valid objections under section 4(1) of the Ordinance were received. Details of these objection and comments on them individually are as follows:

Objection Number 1

This objection is from the Management Committee of Incorporated Owners of Sik On House situated at 54-66 Hill Road, A copy of the objection is at Annex G. The grounds of the objection are that the flyover will give rise to air and noise pollution. The elevated structure will be at least 4.9 metres away from the building and concrete parapets 1, 16 metres high will reduce the effects of dust and noise associated with the flyover.

Objection Number 2

This objection is from Messrs Tong and Ip, Solicitors, on behalf of Madam CHAN Tak- woon, the owner of shops on the ground

floor of 426, 426A and 426B Des Voeux Road
