To implement policy for these modes of transport as ordered by the Governor in Council.
To conclude negotiations with the developer of the new terminal facilities and obtain approval to the conditions of grant by the end of April 1977.
(a) A ballot for the first batch of 250
New Territories taxi licences was held on 30.9.76;
(b) For the second batch, T.A.C. will be
asked to consider relaxing the qualifying criteria so that pak pai operators who do not have their vehicles registered under their own names can apply;
(c) At a meeting on 20.9.76 between this
Branch, C.P., C. for T and A.G. details of legislative amendments for the abolition of public cars and the introduction of hire car permits were agreed. A.G. is now preparing revised draft legislation.
(a) The layout and basic design of the
new terminal building have been agreed with the Departments concerned; (b) The developer has completed sea-bed
and land surveys;
(c) An estimate is awaited from the
developer of the cost of the terminal building so that the area of land of equivalent value which is to be granted to the developer may be calculated.
(a) Agree, via T.A.C、 criteria for N.K taxis, and proceed with the second batch of licences;
(b) Process the revi
draft legislation as far as possible.
