SUBJECT
6. Hong Kong Yaumati Ferry Company (CR 32/5591/75)
PURPOSE
To develop and implement, between now and 1979, proposals to improve the financial position of the Company.
PROGRESS MADE & PRESENT POSITION
(a) ExCo has agreed to waive payment of
royalties and licence fees for the years 1975-79 inclusive and to abolish the second class Bre on cross harbour services with effect from 1.9.76, these being the most urgent measures necessary, according to a detailed financial study ade by the Financial Monitoring Unit of the Economic Services Branch;
(b) Proposals for fare increases for Outlying District Services on Sundays and Public Holidays will be taken to T.A.C. and then to ExCo.
NEXT QUARTER TARGETS
(a) Take Outlying
District Proposal to TAC, ExCo and LegCo by mid December.
(b) Agree with the
Company on further measures required for mid-1977.
LAND
7. Land Production
Programme (£NV_76/76/05)
To provide up-to-date information on the present and future availability of land for all purposes in a programme to be established and in operation by the end of 1977.
Representatives of Finance and Economic Services Branches and the Management Unit will meet early in November 1976 to agree on the type of programme needed and the stages for establishing it.
