To phase the acceptance of land surrendered by the Military under the Defence Costs Agreement. The main agreed releases are :-

(a) Lyemun Barracks (Stage I) comprising (a) Complete surrender

some 133 acres were handed over on 6th January 1977;

(b) Investigations are being conducted

into the proposed release of the remaining parts of Lyemun Barracks

(Stage II) and Sham Shui Po Camp (Stage III) not included in the Defence Costs Agreement;

(c) Proposed change in the planned

surrender of RAF married quarters subject to reprovisioning is under consideration.

Representatives of Environment Branch, Finance Branch, Economic Services Branch and Management Unit met on 9th November and agreed on the type of programme needed and the stages for its establishment.
