PURPOSE
(a) To define the location and
boundaries of country parks and special areas.
(b) To provide legislation and regulations to specify the conditions and use of country parks and special areas.
(c) To administer and control
country parks and special areas.
(a) To evolve an agreed policy for
the control of hawking activities.
(b) To produce effective controls
to regulate hawking activities.
PROGRESS MADE & PRESENT POSITION
(a) Notice of the intention to designate 3 country parks was published in the Gazette on 3rd December 1976.
(b) Draft regulations have been prepared by A.F.D. These re being discussed between Env. Branch/A.P.D./.T.A./A.G. prior to submissi a to ExCo.
(b) A.F.D. is considering some reorganisa- tion and retitling of staff in its Forest Guard Section, in order to provide better control over country parks.
(a) Departmental comments on the I.C.A.C. report on hawker policy have been received, and, following an inter- departmental meeting to discuss these, recommendations will be drawn up.
(b) A Working Party recommended last year
the strengthening of the Fawker Control Force. Urban Council proposed an ex- perimental strengthening of a H.C.F. team by the addition of a General
