Modified Initial System which cannot be settled within the specialist committees dealing with land acruisition, planning and construction work.
Progress Made & Present Position
(a) The Tsuen Wan Mass Transit
Extension Reference Committee, under the chairmanship of the Secretary for the vivonment, was created by the Chicf Secretary on 12th September to deal specifically with high level dccisions concerned with the Tsuen Wan Extension. This Committee has superseded the Study Group for Extensions of the Modified Initial System. (b) Departmental submissions for
aditional staff to deal with the Tsuen Wan tension are being processed by Finance Branch.
(c) It has been agreed to locats
the depot for the extension in Area 6 of Tsuen Wan lew Town.
Next quarter Targets
(a) Reach a decision
on whether to extend the line So Tsuen Wan Jest or terminate at Tsuen Wan Central
(b) Continue to meet
at regular fortnightly intervals to
resolve policy issues.
