Incidentally, does this correspondence still need to be classified 'SECRET ́? So far as we are concerned, 'CONFIDENTIAL would be adequate. But there may be reasons for taking special precautions at your end.

I am copying this letter to Rex Hunt in Kuala Lumpur, and together with relevant previous correspondence) to Rex Goring- Morris in Bangkok, in view of the final sentence in paragraph 2 of your Ambassador's letter of 16 June. If despite your efforts Maideen does travel to Bangkok on his British passport, and his case then comes to the notice of the Visa Officer in Bangkok, he should do what he can to persuade Maideen to surrender his temporary British passport.
