HONG KONG: PROFESSOR TURNER'S REPORT ON A STUDY OF LABOUR RELATIONS
1. Lord Goronwy-Roberts agrees with the recommendations in your recent submission. He has commented that we should tell the TUC and CBI that Professor Turner's Report is tentative in a number of ways and may have to be substantially modified.
2. The Minister of State has also asked what is the economic advantage to the UK from maintaining the present constitutional position in Hong Kong? He thinks Professor Turner misconceives this, for example in paragraph 74(a).
