1. I am returning herewith the original of Professor Turner's letter to you of
2 March but I have retained the attachments to that letter relating to his claim for addi- tional payments. You will see from the attached copy of my minute dated 11 March to the ODM that I have asked them to let me have a statement of account relating to payments made to Professor Turner so that I can brief John Stewart before he goes to Hong Kong.
2. I think that so far as you are concerned, when replying to Professor Turner you should work on the basis of the adage "Least said, soonest mended". I therefore attach a draft based on this philosophy.
